Hughenden Valley Football Club was delighted to be awarded a £2.7K grant at the recent Hughenden Parish Council meeting, held on 17th June.
Our Football Club has now been running for 51 years, and we enable around 200 children spanning the ages of 6 to 18 to play football every week. This promotes fitness, encourages social connections, and enables as many young people as possible to play the game, irrespective of their ability, background or situation.
The club is primarily funded by annual donations from the parents of players, but there is a constant struggle to cover the costs of renting multiple training grounds. Hughenden Parish Council was made aware of this predicament and, as part of their initiative to support local organisations, voted to support us with a generous grant that covers 20% of the previous season's ground rental costs.
This kind of support is obviously very helpful and, on behalf of everyone at HVFC, the Committee extends our sincere gratitude to the Parish Council for considering us for the grant, and for their generosity in providing it.
